Design Safety
Create a custom nursery that can cost less, look stunning, grow with your child, and most
importantly - reduce the risk of SIDS and other sleep-related infant deaths.
Follow our Sleep in Safety, Grow in Style Tips to design your
baby's nursery -- stylishly and safely!
Crib free of anything soft - except your baby!
Decorate your baby's nursery, not the crib.
Use only an approved crib, and a firm-fitting mattress.
Crib bumpers are not recommended and can be hazardous. The only thing in baby's
crib should be the baby, the mattress and a fitted sheet. Remove all loose bedding, stuffed
animals, and pillows from crib. If you are concerned about your baby getting cold, dress
your infant in a wearable blanket or other type of sleepsack in lieu of a blanket.
Wall décor.
Use eye-catching wall décor as the focal point of your nursery design instead
of decorating your infant's crib with fluffy blankets, quilts, pillows and bumpers. Quilts,
decals, specialty panels and other design elements used on walls can safely style your baby's
sleep space.
Furniture.
Consider incorporating nursery-themed upholstery on the glider, rocking chair,
ottoman or other furniture in your baby's nursery instead of matching bumpers, blankets
and other crib bedding.
